As you probably know the Atlanta Braves are 0-9 this year in one-run games. They are 15-6 in games decided by two or more runs. Neither trend figures to continue at those paces for the duration of the season. The Braves will eventually win a one-run game or two. They will lose a few by two runs or more. By this time of year, form has been established. Pitchers are either on the way up or on the way down and it's easy to pick on the guys who can't get anyone out or back the guys who are going great. Take advantage of the opportunities while you can because it won't be long before September call-ups cloud the issue and some of the guys who are in rotations now won't be given any more chances. The Trade Deadline is so named because teams that are dead in the water seek to make trades with other teams still hoping to stay in line for a postseason bid. There weren't all that many deadline deals and most were not earth-shattering. Many of the deals rumored to be in the works never happened, many of the players expected to be on the move never moved.
